Earls Court is perhaps best known today for its
international exhibition centre and concert venue. The art deco
exhibition centre, which opened in 1937, stands on the site of the
Earl’s Court Exhibition Ground, which from 1887 until the Great
War hosted a string of spectacular events.
Today, the Earls Court Olympia complex attracts
over 3 million visitors every year to around 130 events. It hosts
an extensive range of public and trade shows during the year covering
agriculture, arts, culture, sport, recreation, automobile, marine,
business services, retail, travel, broadcasting, electronics, information
technology, telecommunications, catering, construction, home, lifestyle,
fashion & beauty.
To get to Earls Court Olympia from the Gallery hotel
or Gainsborough hotel take a District line train (5 minutes) from
South Kensington Station or take the C1 bus from outside the station.

idea in 1853 of building a great hall as part of a cultural centre
to be based in Kensington. The Royal Albert Hall is one of London’s
premier concert venues and seats 5000. It is an architecturally
acclaimed structure.
